Can the author tell what exactly he has in mind? Does he have a workable alternative?
Asking people to stop giving and taking bribes is living in a fool's paradise! Unless you believe in utopia or Raamrajya! let us do away with the Indian Penal Code first then! What is the need? People just have to stop hurting other people and that will be all!!!
You have to go to one extreme to balance the other extreme. The war of Mahabharata with attendant killing of millions was necessary. Imagine talking out Duryodhana. And, necessity of WW II against Hitler (The Author may not believe in mythology). Or maybe you think that Hitler could have been persuaded out of war by words!
The opposition to the idea of unconstitutional center of power is *feeble*! Sonia Gandhi wields more power than is her due. She is leader of a party not the Government. Also, the empowered PMO with it's coterie of NAC etc. is extra-constitutional.
And be sure - people will not support Anna & Co. if he comes out with any other frivolous issue. He cannot expect to float a party and win elections. Nor can he declare himself "Dictator"!
We have seen the govt stifle the voice of people outside with arguments of privilege of Parliament, inside Parliament it has outshouted the opposition and has a majority. It will not listen to reason. In the coalition Congress party is supreme, In Congress Gandhi family is sacrosanct. No one has spoken against Gandhi family in Congress and survived. Is that democracy? It is pure sycophancy!
Speaking of "Discussion" is surefire way to delay. And delay is unacceptable. It has been too long. Did Anna not give an ultimatum in April? Did not the Government have opportunity to discuss? If Anna & Co has been adamant, so has the Govt. The exclusion of most Govt Officers and inclusion of NGOs is an indicator of malafide intentions of the Govt! Govt with it's clique of laywers is master of mis-direction of delay and procedural trapping. Legal cunning is not the weapon to fight perceptions.
A deadline to begin work is required to be thrust on the present system. An entropy has to resolved by positive force. And the People are organized today in that positive force.
People like the author are seeking limelight by taking a contrarian and debatable view. It serves no worthwhile purpose.
